fledglingdesign is the portfolio site of Martin Ferrini, a Bay Area Designer/Consultant.

Philosophy:

"Simple". It's quite a challenge to reduce the elements of design down to the simplest most effective solution, but that's what makes it so interesting and fun! It is my goal to achieve that wonderful balance of beauty and function whenever possible.

Bio:

The condensed version is: I grew up and went to college in Massachusetts, then "headed west young man", worked in record stores in Berkeley for an unhealthy amount of time, met a girl, fell crazy in love, moved to Brooklyn, did the temping tango in Manhattan, was eventually hired by an investment firm (of all places), got a Mac, took a few computer graphics courses, got back into the idea of actually doing something with my graphics degree, loved New York, but had to leave, moved back west, got hired and laid off from a dot bomb, was unemployed and bummed out for a while, started doing freelance projects, got hired as a Macintosh Tech at the Academy of Art, got married, now have a beautiful daughter and we're living happily ever after in beautiful Sonoma county...

I'm currently a web developer with Louddog Media in North Beach, San Francisco.
